Owners get one-year rental license

The Department of Revenue and Taxation issues a one-time Temporary Business License per dwelling to rent for up to one year. The unit must be in zones A, R1, R2, C, or MI and pass a certified inspection; HUD or GHURA inspectors are required for federally assisted tenants. You must submit an affidavit for residential use and a Certificate of Suitability for Occupancy. The license is not transferable, and you must finish the regular business license within the year. You pay at least the regular rental license fee; you cannot get this license if you owe gross receipts, withholding, or other taxes under 11 GCA 70301(a), or if a prior license was revoked or suspended under 11 GCA 70302(c). The Director can revoke the license if health or safety issues are not fixed in 14 days; tenant and fair housing laws still apply.
