Beginning July 1, 2025, Idaho livestock dealers pay $300 for an initial license or annual renewal, up from $100. The annual fee for each authorized representative rises from $35 to $100. Anyone doing business as a livestock dealer must hold an annual license.
Beginning July 1, 2025, brand-program fees go into a separate State Brand Account. The State Treasurer must invest idle money, and the account keeps the interest. The money is available without further spending approval for specified State Brand Board and brand inspector duties and expenses. The law also voids IDAPA 11.02.01, Section 34(01) and Section 100(02)–(03), on that date. The supplied provisions do not explain those rules' subjects, so the effects of removing them are unclear.
Beginning July 1, 2025, recording a brand or its sale, assignment, or transfer costs $75, up from $50. The brand renewal fee cap rises from $125 to $200; $25 of the renewal fee funds wolf control. One certified copy is free on request, extra copies cost $5 each, and brand-record research costs $36 per hour. The annual inspection certificate fee cap rises from $5 to $10; the State Brand Board sets the actual fee. That certificate covers livestock used for purposes other than sale or trade and lasts up to one year.
