Beginning July 1, 2025, Idaho’s bean assessment rises from 12¢ to 16¢–24¢ per hundredweight (100 pounds). The Idaho Bean Commission sets the rate within those limits and decides how long an adjusted rate lasts. The rules cover dry beans and now garden beans grown in Idaho and sold or intended for food or seed. Dealers or shippers first bringing another grower’s beans into trade may charge the grower half and remain responsible for half. If a dealer or handler only cleans the grower’s beans, the grower pays the full assessment.
