Certain instrument manufacturers gain building permit exemptions

Louisiana exempts construction and improvement work inside qualifying factories' secured or fenced areas from the covered state building rules. Qualifying factories manufacture search, detection, navigation, guidance, aeronautical, or nautical systems and instruments under NAICS 2012 industry code 334511. Local governments cannot require building permits or enforce building codes under these rules for that work. Applicable International Plumbing Code requirements still apply. Other facilities remain subject to the state's rules.
