New Homeschool Proud plate carries fees

The law creates a Homeschool Proud plate for Louisiana citizens with passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, or vans. Plates can be issued only after at least 1,000 people apply and the vehicle registration system is updated. Plate holders pay $25 each year, plus a $3.50 handling fee per plate and the standard motor vehicle license tax. The $25 fee goes to Homeschool Louisiana and must be used only for its activities. The department keeps the handling fee to cover administrative costs.
