Beginning June 30, 2026, the law re-creates Louisiana’s transportation department and its related agencies, continuing their legal authority. For enactment through a veto override, the effective date is June 30, 2026, or the day after legislative approval, whichever is later. The law contains conflicting end dates: July 1, 2030, in its termination schedule and July 1, 2031, for ending legal authority. The department and related agencies can be re-created again before July 1, 2031, through the state’s agency renewal process. The law overrides conflicting sunset rules and repeals the department’s prior schedule entry; it adds no funding, taxes, or household payments.
