Aerospace manufacturers gain property tax eligibility

Louisiana aerospace manufacturers are now eligible for the state's constitutional property tax exemption. Covered work includes building, assembling, integrating, testing, preparing, and launching aerospace vehicles or craft. Eligibility includes capital spending on facilities and infrastructure integral to that work. These include launch pads, structures, propellant systems, testing infrastructure, and support systems integrated with manufacturing. The law sets no separate exemption rate, duration, or tax-savings amount. It takes effect upon the governor's signature or when the constitutional period for becoming law without signature expires. After a veto override, it takes effect the next day.
