Hospital districts gain more construction contract options

Louisiana hospital service districts can use construction management at risk (CMAR) for projects estimated to cost at least $1 million. This lowers their minimum from $2 million; the general minimum for other public entities remains $5 million. The existing committee approval requirement remains for CMAR projects estimated below $15 million. Public entities must send written notice at least 60 days before proceeding, including the project's name, description, and reason for using CMAR. The House and Senate transportation, highways, and public works committees must review and approve the project.
