Business park board vacancy and attendance rules

The New Orleans Regional Business Park’s appointing authorities must fill board vacancies within 60 days after written notice. After that deadline, remaining board members may appoint an interim member, whom the responsible appointing authority may later replace. If the board does not fill the seat within the next 60 days, the mayor appoints someone. Members automatically lose their seats after four consecutive unexcused absences from regular or special meetings in one calendar year. The appointing authority must fill those seats within 15 days for the rest of the vacated term, and removed members cannot serve again.

New Orleans business park board changes

The New Orleans Regional Business Park board has 11 members, down from 12. The mayor appoints four members instead of five, without having to choose from lists submitted by specified organizations. Six members, up from five, must be present to conduct business; the board must keep minutes public as required by law. Members no longer have fixed two-year terms and can be removed at any time by the authority that appointed them. Their service ends when that authority’s term ends, but they remain eligible for reappointment.
