Harahan police promotions prioritize three senior candidates

Harahan police vacancies must first be filled through reinstatement or reemployment when available under existing rules. Otherwise, the civil service board must certify names from the promotion list in list order. The appointing authority must choose a certified candidate listed for the job class for which they were tested. That candidate must be among the three highest in departmental seniority. This rule takes priority over conflicting laws and sets no salary amount.
