New disability reviews for district attorneys

Eligible Louisiana District Attorneys’ Retirement System members seeking disability retirement need official disability certification from a board-chosen physician. This replaces certification by the State Medical Disability Board. The system’s board must award disability benefits to eligible members with that certification. Benefits still use the lower amount under the two existing calculations in Paragraphs (1) and (2). The law also repeals R.S. 11:1581(13).
