The law requires Louisiana Medicaid to cover dental work medically necessary to clear an enrollee for another Medicaid-covered medical procedure. The Louisiana Department of Health must submit state plan amendments for federal approval. It must adopt rules under the Administrative Procedure Act and take other steps needed to put coverage in place. The law sets no start or end date for this coverage. The bill title reports an estimated $784,370 increase in state general fund spending, not a payment to each enrollee.
