Louisiana renews civil service with end date

Beginning June 30, 2026, the law re-creates Louisiana’s Department of State Civil Service and the entities legally within it. The amended schedule ends their legal authority on July 1, 2032, when they must begin ending operations. They can be re-created before that deadline through the existing legal process. The law removes the prior sunset listing and overrides conflicting rules in the existing re-creation law. It does not specify changes to household taxes, benefits, or individual employment terms.
