Louisiana cities and parishes can ban vapor product sales and storage within 300 feet or less of a school. The ban applies only where a local ordinance prohibits these activities; it is not automatic statewide. It covers premises selling tobacco, alternative nicotine, or vapor products, including offering vapor products for sale or keeping stock. The law provides sidewalk walking measurements in areas with subdivisions and allows a local straight-line measurement rule. Measurements run from the nearest school property line point to the nearest point of the licensed premises. Straight-line rules apply only to new permits issued on or after the rule's adoption. Lawful marijuana and marijuana products authorized under state law and regulated by the Louisiana Department of Health are excluded.
