Later renewal deadline for worker training

Beginning June 30, 2026, the Incumbent Worker Training Program gets a later renewal deadline. The deadline moves from before July 1, 2026, to before July 1, 2030. The legislature must expressly renew the program by then. That renewal allows money to be charged and credited to its training account in the following calendar year. The law does not guarantee a funding amount.

Louisiana Works re-created with scheduled shutdown

The law re-creates Louisiana Works and its related statutory entities beginning June 30, 2026. They begin ending operations on July 1, 2030. Their legal authority ends on July 1, 2031. Louisiana Works can be re-created before that date through the state's sunset review process. These changes do not set funding amounts or change who qualifies for services.
