Less crash compensation involving uninsured drivers

For crash claims against uninsured owners or drivers, the injury amount barred from recovery rises from $15,000 to $100,000. The property damage amount barred from recovery rises from $25,000 to $100,000. Uninsured owners or drivers who sue must pay every party’s court costs if their injury award is $100,000 or less. This court-cost rule applies even when they were not at fault. Insurers keep rights to seek repayment above both $100,000 limits, including when no lawsuit is filed.
