Graduate scholarships expand for police and firefighters

Louisiana expands scholarships for police officers and firefighters injured on duty who cannot work, and qualifying spouses. Spouses qualify when their officer or firefighter spouse was injured or killed on duty. Coverage now reaches one bachelor's, master's, doctoral, or other postgraduate degree offered by the school, replacing fixed semester limits. Louisiana's General Fund pays for tuition, fees, room and board, plus a $250-per-semester book grant. Recipients must meet entrance and academic requirements, attend full-time, follow school rules, and maintain at least a C average each semester.
