St. Tammany court fund gets yearly surplus

At each calendar year's end, St. Tammany Parish must transfer surplus money from its special fund. The money goes to the 22nd Judicial District Court's criminal court fund. Surplus means the year-end balance above that year's total witness fees paid to off-duty law enforcement officers. Money owed to an officer or agency for an off-duty law enforcement court appearance is excluded. Transferred money can cover any use already allowed for the criminal court fund.
