One application for students taking college courses

The law requires one statewide application for Louisiana high school students seeking dual enrollment in college courses. The Board of Regents must run it with public colleges by the start of the 2027-2028 school year. Public colleges must participate unless they notify their management board in writing that they are opting out. Management boards must coordinate with Regents on plans to improve access, efficiency, and cost savings, including opt-out and re-entry procedures. Regents also manages dual enrollment grants, including evaluation and selection, while consulting the state education board. Local public school boards can keep agreements with public colleges about dual enrollment and credit transfers. These changes must take effect no later than the start of the 2027-2028 school year.

Standard tuition for dual enrollment students

Each Louisiana public college management board must adopt a standard tuition rate for all dual enrollment courses. Boards must set the rate in coordination with the Board of Regents. The rate must be in place by the start of the 2027-2028 school year. The law sets no dollar amount or formula, so students' tuition can rise or fall compared with current charges.
