Ferriday district expands and changes leadership

The law sets Ferriday Downtown Entertainment District's boundaries at Texas Avenue, EE Wallace Boulevard, Mickey Gilley Avenue, and First Street. It also includes both sides of Greater Street, even outside that boundary. The district's board grows from seven to nine members. Four seats are appointed by the House District 21 representative, Senate District 34 senator, Concordia Parish Sheriff's Department, and Delta Recreation's governing board. These four members draw lots at their first meeting to set their initial terms. Two serve three years, one serves two years, and one serves one year; later terms last three years. Existing members appointed through the unchanged appointment sources finish their terms, and their successors serve three-year terms. The Concordia Bank & Trust and Delta Bank appointees' terms end on the law's effective date. They stay in office until the new House and Senate appointees take office. The law does not specify a direct household payment, tax, or benefit.

Sheriff officers can patrol Ferriday district

Concordia Parish sheriff's officers can patrol and make arrests within the Ferriday Downtown Entertainment District. This district-specific authority ends if the district ceases to exist. The law does not specify a direct household payment or cost.
