Adults required to pay for electronic monitoring must give the provider an accepted payment method or payment plan. The law sets no fee amount. For people tried as adults, providers can report unpaid charges, request a hearing, and seek to end service. The court must set the hearing within 15 days of filing, excluding legal holidays, or on the earliest lawful date. If the court finds lawful charges are owed, it must order payment and can set deadlines or installments. It cannot change the provider’s lawful charges without the provider’s consent. Missing the hearing after proper notice requires an arrest warrant, but punishment cannot be based solely on nonpayment. The court must explain its safety, court-appearance, bail-surety, or supervision reasons. At the hearing, the court can allow up to 24 hours to find a qualified replacement provider. The current provider generally must continue monitoring through the hearing and any approved replacement period, but not beyond that period. The new device must be installed before the old one is removed, unless the court orders another way that avoids a monitoring gap. You remain responsible for lawful contracted fees to the old provider until its device is removed, unless the court orders or the provider agrees otherwise.
