New limits on fire pay board

Beginning January 1, 2028, only current recipients of state supplemental pay can serve on the Fireman's Supplemental Pay Board. Members must receive that pay under R.S. 40:1666.1. The law does not change supplemental-pay benefits. For enactment through a veto override, the start date is January 1, 2028, or the day after legislative approval, whichever is later.
