Hammond campus project needs no match

The Northshore Technical Community College—Hammond Area Campus project no longer needs matching funds under the college capital financing law. This exception applies only to that project. It does not create a direct household payment.

Louisiana changes bond sales and repayments

Louisiana general obligation bond bids must be written, signed and sealed, or sent by fax or electronically under State Bond Commission procedures. Instead of every bidder submitting a check upfront, the winner must provide security worth 2% of the bonds’ face value by the commission’s deadline. Options are a Federal Reserve wire, certified or cashier’s check, or a surety bond with commission-approved terms. Wires must originate from, and checks must be drawn on, banks or trust companies authorized in Louisiana or New York. Security must be payable to Louisiana’s state treasurer on the state’s behalf. Federal and Louisiana government bids, including their agencies and corporations, are exempt from this security requirement. Issuing agencies set repayment dates and amounts; amounts no longer need to be equal across dates. Bond maturity dates and required payments into repayment funds must fall at yearly or six-month intervals from the bond date.
