West Baton Rouge clerk takes jury duties

Beginning August 1, 2026, the West Baton Rouge Parish clerk of court takes over jury commission work and coordinates jury selection. The clerk can name a deputy in writing to act instead. The clerk or deputy has the same powers, duties, and responsibilities as a jury commissioner under applicable law. The clerk receives the pay allowed for a jury commissioner, but this law gives no amount.
