Local schools approve state exit-code changes

Louisiana’s Department of Education must get the local public school system’s agreement before assigning a different student exit code. This applies when the state’s code differs from the code already assigned by the city, parish, or other local system. The law takes effect upon signing or when the deadline for becoming law without signature passes. After a veto override, it takes effect the next day.
