Gaming businesses can share unused deductions

Beginning July 1, 2026, covered Louisiana gaming operators get a $5 million annual deduction for promotional wagers. It reduces net gaming proceeds, casino gross revenue, or net slot machine proceeds. Operators can transfer all or part of their unused deduction for the same fiscal year. Net gaming proceeds licensees and casino operators can transfer deductions to licensees under Chapters 4 and 7 of Title 27. Slot machine licensees can transfer deductions to licensees under Chapters 4, 5, and 7. Transfers must be in writing, and both businesses must report them to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
