Louisiana agencies gain technology buying options

Louisiana executive-branch agencies under the Office of Technology Services can use cooperative purchasing for covered technology systems and services. They can also share an outside procurement body's existing system by paying part of its costs. No new competitive purchase is required if that body originally bought the system through a competitive contract. Eligible agencies can also buy covered technology through General Services Administration supply schedules without following state Procurement Code competitive bidding rules. The law does not expand or limit the Office of Technology Services' authority.
