Louisiana legal oversight workers gain benefits access

Beginning August 1, 2026, active employees of qualifying legal oversight entities can join Louisiana’s Office of Group Benefits programs. These entities must be created by Louisiana Supreme Court rule or order to regulate the practice of law. They include the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board and the Committee on Bar Admissions. Access covers life, health, and other benefits, but the court must approve the entity’s participation. The entity must pay the employer share of premiums using only money it generates.
