Rent limits for charitable gaming sessions

Beginning August 1, 2026, charitable gaming space and equipment rentals cannot exceed a reasonable market rate agreed to in writing. Commercial landlords must follow the market-rate rule in the local licensing ordinance, with rental sessions lasting at least two hours. The law removes the express ban on rent based on a share of game receipts or profits. The market-rate cap still applies. The law also repeals R.S. 4:727, but the supplied text does not explain what that section covered.
