New entry limits for minors

Beginning August 1, 2026, Louisiana expands its under-18 entry restriction at alcohol-licensed premises to cover consumable hemp products. Permit holders, agents, and employees cannot intentionally entice, help, or allow minors to visit or loiter in or around covered places. This applies where alcohol, beer, or consumable hemp products are the main goods sold, handled, or given away. The law keeps an exception for religious or charitable functions sponsored by tax-exempt organizations under sections 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(8). During a minor's presence at these functions, no alcohol may be sold, handled, given away, or accessible.
