Louisiana airports get more building contract options

Beginning August 1, 2026, Louisiana public airports can use design-build contracts for more types of buildings on airport property. Eligible buildings include education or workforce training facilities, air traffic control towers, parking garages, and aircraft hangars. Projects must serve the public interest, benefit the airport, and follow the design-build procedures set by law. This authority excludes equipment and passenger terminals at commercial service airports. It applies even when other laws conflict.
