Louisiana allows Lafayette public land transfers

Louisiana’s transportation secretary can transfer or lease state property in Lafayette Parish to the Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority. The listed properties are ADV-19-A-P1 (0.547 acre), ADV-19-C-P1 (0.78 acre), and ADV-13-P1. The authority must provide value proportionate to the appraised value of any property it receives. Transfers can cover all or part of the properties, including improvements and related rights, but Louisiana keeps mineral rights. The secretary can sign agreements and set terms needed to complete the transaction. The law takes effect upon the governor’s signature and does not directly change household benefits, costs, or duties.
