More privacy for pistol license applicants

Beginning January 1, 2027, New Hampshire cities and towns face tighter limits on loaded pistol or revolver license applications. They cannot ask for more information than the state’s DSSP 85 form, revised in March 2017, allows. They cannot request an applicant’s occupation, current employer, employer’s address, or personal references. They also cannot require consent to release personal, employment, medical, psychiatric, or other records beyond what that form expressly requires.
