New trauma committee members and report

The law updates who sits on New Hampshire’s Trauma Medical Review Committee. It includes one member from each trauma hospital level I, II, III, and IV. These may be trauma surgeons, emergency doctors for adults and kids, trauma program managers, or trauma registrars. It also adds members from emergency physicians, paramedics, emergency nurses, and EMTs. It includes professional firefighters and fire chiefs. It adds a trauma nurse coordinator with performance improvement experience, the state medical examiner or designee, an EMS medical control board member, and a hospital representative nominated by the New Hampshire Hospital Association. It also includes an injury prevention coordinator and a trauma survivor. The committee must send the Governor a report every year. The report lists all trauma hospitals by name, level, and location. It explains the committee’s work and recommendations to improve the trauma system. It also summarizes top causes of injury and death in New Hampshire, from intentional and unintentional injuries. The law takes effect upon passage.
