Private checklist for voters with protective orders

If you have a valid protective order under RSA 173-B, you can ask to keep your name and address off the public voter checklist. Officials keep your name, home address, and mailing address on a separate nonpublic list. The public checklist only shows how many voters are on the private list. The private list is maintained by the supervisors and is not open to public disclosure.

Standard voter checklist rules statewide

The Secretary of State sets statewide rules and forms for voter checklists. Supervisors must keep each voter’s full name, home (domicile) address, mailing address, and party, if any, updated. Every checklist used at elections must show these items, but paper checklists used by ballot clerks do not need mailing addresses. The first column is the voter’s address, and lists are sorted by street name. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
