Fetal death data: more kept, less shared

New Hampshire’s vital records office must record specific details on fetal death records. These include the mother’s full name, name before first marriage or civil union, date of birth, residence, race, ancestry, education, occupation, and Social Security number. When sending fetal-death data to the CDC, the office cannot share the parents’ names, birth month or day, medical record numbers, or any address or ZIP code. It may share the parents’ birth year and the date of fetal delivery. The law takes effect upon passage.
