Current water ratepayers shielded from costs

Beginning July 1, 2026, if you are a current public utility ratepayer, your bill cannot go up because of these projects. You are protected from both direct and indirect costs to bring water to new communities funded by this appropriation.

State funds Southern New Hampshire drinking water buildout

Beginning July 1, 2026, the state provides $16.5 million for Phase 2 of the Southern New Hampshire Regional Water Project. The money is for FY ending June 30, 2027, and stays available until spent. It aims to add over 2 million gallons per day of drinking water for several towns facing PFAS issues and growth. Funds can pay for pumps, pressure-reducing stations, tanks, water mains, design, land, and permits.
