Beginning July 17, 2026, New Jersey lowers its Family Leave Act employer threshold from 30 workers to 15. Employers must have at least 15 employees each working day during 20 or more calendar workweeks in the current or prior calendar year. This expands job-protected family leave to eligible workers at employers with 15 to 29 employees. The change does not provide a direct payment.
