Public bodies keep newspaper notice options

The law took effect December 31, 2024. From January 1 through March 1, 2025, people and public bodies can keep using qualifying newspapers for required notices. Newspapers qualify if used or permitted for those notices during 2024, whether publishing in print or electronically. Electronic publication must use technology run by or for the newspaper. Publication prices cannot exceed existing legal rates, and readers cannot be charged or required to register to view electronic notices. These rules apply despite conflicting laws, regulations, or local ordinances.
