2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

Doula access in hospitals and birthing centers

If you are admitted for delivery or inpatient care after birth, you can name a doula. The hospital or freestanding birthing center must allow your designated doula to be with you. This applies to facilities that provide perinatal services under state health rules. In an emergency, or if access would risk your safety or the care team’s safety, the facility may refuse doula access.

Effective date tied to doula law

This law takes effect on the same date, and in the same way, as a 2024 state law that lets expecting and new mothers access their doulas. The start date follows that other law’s timing rules.
