The law keeps Medicaid waiver services for people with traumatic brain injuries out of managed care. These §1915(c) brain injury services stay in the current system, not in a managed care plan. For nursing home diversion and transition waiver services, managed care cannot provide them until at least January 1, 2027. This protects current providers and service plans. It does not change who qualifies or payment amounts.
