Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage extended to 2029
The law keeps the updated uninsured/underinsured motorist (SUM) rules in place through June 30, 2029. Beginning 180 days after enactment, those rules apply to new insurance policies issued on or after that day. Some parts of the act take effect immediately. This changes timing only; it does not change coverage amounts or who can buy coverage.
