If you work for HRI’s Buffalo Division on the transfer date, you become an employee of Roswell Park Cancer Research Corporation in the same job. RPCRC pays your salary and assumes your retirement and leave benefits. It credits all your leave balances: personal, holiday, annual, sick, and sick at half pay. All affected employees move on the same day. The transfer happens only after applicable grants and money move from HRI to Roswell Park.
If you transfer, you keep your union status. Roswell Park recognizes the current union as your exclusive representative. The current contract stays in force through March 31, 2028. It applies to employees who transfer and to those hired before that date. After that, Roswell Park and the union negotiate a new contract.
New York adds Roswell Park Cancer Research Corporation to the state’s list of membership nonprofits that support agency work. The law takes effect only after all grants move from Health Research, Inc. to Roswell Park. Roswell Park must tell the Legislative Bill Drafting Commission when the transfer happens and when the law is enacted.
