Lung cancer follow-ups covered, $0 in most plans

Beginning January 1, 2027, most comprehensive health plans must cover follow-up lung cancer screening or diagnostic tests. A licensed provider must recommend the test, and national clinical guidelines must support it. For these covered services, you pay no copays, coinsurance, or deductible. Your plan may require preauthorization to confirm the test matches the guidelines. If your plan is a high-deductible health plan, the annual deductible may still apply to keep HSA rules. This applies to policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2027.
