2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Hospitals record disability needs at intake

General hospitals must offer large-print preadmission information to blind or visually impaired patients. They must also provide an audio version when you or your representative ask, in addition to the written copy. During intake, hospitals must ask and record whether you need a reasonable accommodation for a disability, using questions set by the Department. You can choose not to answer disability questions.

When the new intake rules start

Most parts of this law take effect right away. The section on hospital intake questions starts on the same date as a related 2024 law. That 2024 law takes effect on the 108th day after it became law.
