The law requires state and local prisons and jails, and other law enforcement detention sites, to offer breast cancer screening and diagnostic testing. Tests are offered at no cost to people in custody. Screening is offered every two years and follows nationally recognized, evidence-based guidelines. A doctor can recommend a different testing plan for a specific person.
