Awards for retailers promoting New York drinks

The law creates annual, non-money awards from the Governor. Restaurants and retailers licensed to sell alcohol for take-home can be honored for unusual efforts to feature and explain New York-made wine, liquor, beer, cider, and mead from New York-grown ingredients. The Governor can give up to three wine retailer awards each year, and up to three awards in each of the other drink categories. Nominations are coordinated with Agriculture and Markets and the State Liquor Authority. These changes take effect 90 days after the law became law.

State promotion of New York beverages

The State now promotes policies to grow production and sales of New York‑labeled wine, beer, cider, liquor, and mead. It works with the New York Wine and Grape Foundation, Agriculture and Markets, and the State Liquor Authority. The law does not provide new funding or direct payments. These changes take effect 90 days after the law became law.
