The law provides scholarships for students in approved master’s in education programs in New York. To qualify, you must have finished your bachelor’s degree at a New York college and lived in New York then. You must meet an academic excellence standard set by the administering corporation. You must enroll full time and sign a contract to teach full time for five years in a New York public K–12 school, including charter schools. You must follow all program rules. The law does not set award amounts.
The program gives first priority to eligible students at New York public colleges. After that, remaining awards may go to eligible students at New York private colleges. All students must still meet the program’s eligibility rules.
