Orleans County keeps extra 1% sales tax

The law lets Orleans County keep an extra 1% local sales tax through November 30, 2027. This is on top of the county’s 3% rate, for a 4% local rate on taxable sales. The county must have a local law in place to impose it. Retailers collect and remit the tax on sales made in the county.
