Rental companies must share digging safety notice

Beginning 180 days after enactment, rental companies must give renters of excavation equipment a safety notice. The notice explains renters’ duties under state law to protect underground pipes and cables. It must include the call-before-you-dig program, how it works, and the phone number. The one-call service must provide a model notice and its phone number to rental companies, and work with them to share it.
